12th
December
was the date
of our Christmas Fair where plenty of visitors helped swell our coffers
at one of our annual events. |

Many of our
members attended the Christmas Carols at Everton Church organised by the
Lymington Group WI’s and our president and treasurer both had readings. |

Scrabble
Club started with the promise of fortnightly meetings if we have enough
willing members |

Barton on Sea Golf Club was the venue for our evening Christmas Dinner
enjoyed by most of our members with their guests |

was our
Christmas tea with quizzes and competions as well as the big Christmas
Draw |

Our AGM saw
the re-election of the president and treasurer with a new secretary and
more members to the committee |

Our
practise paid off and our team finished third in the Area Skittle match
at Pennington |

practise for our Institute team followed a pub lunch at the Walkford. |

Our annual
Harvest Lunch, with food prepared and served by the committee, was very
well received by all members and guests |

This brought
us a Skin Care demonstration to our monthly meeting, with lots of
samples to try |

Two teams of
WI members (and one of supporting husbands) took part in the village
annual quiz, which we managed to finish quite high up in the results
table. |

was too wet to take the chair and tables |

The Lymington Group of WI’s held their elimination round of the County
Quiz in our hall, with our gallant team finishing in the middle of the
results table. |

National AGM
at the Albert Hall was attended by some of our members |

At our monthly meeting we had a cookery demonstration, but the food
baked had to be tested by willing volunteers |

For the second year we held our WI Fun Quiz with 7 teams taking part and
a win for the current champions |

We hosted
another Cream Tea for visitor around the New Forest |

In the
evening, we had a celebratory meal at Barton on Sea Golf Club which was
greatly enjoyed by everyone.

Our monthly
meeting saw us all unanimously voting to ask our delegate to vote for
“S.O.S. for Bees” at the AGM and then we had tea and Birthday Cake. |

Our 90th
Birthday Exhibition attracted a large number of visitors coming to see
our ideas of what had changed over the last 90 years. Davy Lamps and
flat irons to iPods and moving picture frames all on show. |

Lunch in New Milton at the Rydal with over two dozen attendees |

members, Chris Buckley, told us all about the objects and the work of
the Inner Wheel, |

We hosted a
large group of 50 to a Cream Tea in our hall, after the had enjoyed a
trip around Lymington and a tour around the Forest |

A pub lunch
at the Three Bells, across the road from our hall, which had recently
been renovated, was enjoyed by a large group of us. |

A group from
the Institute went to see the Calendar Girls show in Southampton, which
we all enjoyed. |

Our March speaker was unable to make our meeting, so a general meeting
with poetry reading and a short quiz was quickly organised. |

Due to the
snow and the treat of freezing temperatures, our February meeting
had to be cancelled |

13th
January
First outing
of the year to MJ’s , the restaurant connected to Brockenhurst college,
where we all enjoyed a superb meal which had been prepared and then
served by the students. |

January
Our first
meeting of the new year with our new secretary telling us all about the
tradition of ‘First Footing’ in Scotland and giving us all a taste of
Black Bun, Cloutie pudding, shortbread and a tot of whiskey (which went
very well with the members !) |
