Other Railways

Our garden railway began early in 1996 and has changed many times during construction.  We work to a scale of 1:20.3 (although some feature deviate from this slightly) on track 45mm gauge to represent narrow gauge railways running on 3 foot gauge.  There is no specific prototype and you will often see a wide variety of stock on the railway.  Locomotives are live steam or battery powered, mainly under radio control.
The photograph on the right captures a busy day at South Don station with a family about to board the directors coach.

The railway is built in a space 50 feet by 30 feet and currently has 476 feet of track winding  around the garden ranging from ground level to about 3 feet above ground.  Click on the thumbnail to view a plan of the railway.
